The ITA ITUEC aims to provide the athletes of the world the reassurance that their applications for Therapeutic Use Exemptions, and review of their medical information, is handled confidentially and respectfully by some of the world’s best physicians and pharmacists with expertise in sports medicine.
The ITA ITUEC supports athletes and their team physicians to prepare TUE submissions at every step of the way, to ensure the fastest review and response is provided, while fully meeting the WADA standards for TUEs.
The ITA ITUEC is a truly international committee, with some of the world’s best clinicians represented from every continent of the world. We provide a comprehensive solution for international sports federations, major event organisers and other anti-doping organisations for complete TUE management, administration, and full TUE support for their athletes and prescribers.

Our ITUEC operates in a truly independent way, without influence from external individuals or organisations.
All our ITUEC physicians and pharmacists are registered to practice in their country of residence.
If any disputes arise regarding the decisions of the committee, the ITA is able to convene additional medical experts to review the case, or to involve our in-house legal team to support the application.
We pride ourselves on the rapid turnaround time for processing TUEs. We aim to provide athletes a decision within 48 hours, with the vast majority of TUE applications processed in less than a week.
We provide dedicated support to athletes and physicians from our partner organisations with access to telephone and email advice on any aspect of the TUE application process.
